Intern Onboarding/ Ultrasound Month

Ultrasound education starts with orientation to our ultrasound machines and image storage system, Q-Path. We use asynchronous didactics followed by scan sessions in the simulation center and then guided small group scan sessions in the ED with Ultrasound Faculty. We use a tiered approach to ultrasound education so that skills learned during the first month can be built upon thereafter. We employ small group sessions, simulation and games to teach the basics of point-of-care ultrasound.
Learners are expected to complete didactics and quizzes as homework so that the time spent with faculty at the bedside is all hands on scanning. Make sure to come prepared to scan!
