Where's the Beef?

We were in the Simulation Center today for EM Resident conference, teaching ultrasound guided nerve blocks. This time we were discussing regional anesthesia for hip fractures, including the fascia iliaca and PENG blocks. Our amazing Sim Center staff made us these awesome block models using pork loin and meat glue! Although not something you'd want on the dinner table, these meat models allowed our residents to visualize fascial planes mimicking the fascia lata and fascia iliaca and then hydro-dissect the planes apart.
